Think Property Malaysia is probably one of the neatest property portal in Malaysia, which allows listing and search of properties for sale, rent, or even auction. It was recently bought over by iProperty, another comprehensive property portal which includes overseas property listings, sparkling quite a number of questions from agents who feared that they may lose some privileges that they used to enjoy with Think Property. One of it is probably not being able to submit anymore property listings via thinkproperty.my, but to divert to iProperty.com instead.
Participation as a seller is simple, with free registration that can be completed within minutes. The portal which was owned by Think Media Sdn Bhd has many loyal fans who are pleased with the informative site, which scouts around for property news and uploads them into the portal for easy access to all visitors. It has more than 4,500 agents and approximately 80,000 listings, generating monthly visitors averaging 150,000 per month.
It is not surprising then that IPGA Ltd, which operates iProperty.com.my, was willing to acquire Think Property for RM6 million. Although IPGA’s Chief Executive Officer, Shaun Di Gregorio, had said that the portal will still run on as an individual portal with its own unique visitors, the move to divert submission of property listing is a questionable debate.
This launched several questions in the Think Property’s own forum. One of the question raised is whether the agents may still get free listing services to post their properties online, and whether they will automatically get an ID in the new systems. However, there are many who feels that the collaboration will bring benefits to the agents, since all property listings via the iProperty site will automatically appear in the Think Property site without having to re-submit the information separately.
The Think Property portal has a lot to offer for the local community. Blogs and forums offer a learning opportunity for new home buyers especially, and its news team is always updating news to ensure that its members are kept up to date with the latest information in in the industry. The friendly-user search options will help users to seek the property they wanted in the respective states, with advanced option of searching by property type and price. There are also articles to guide users on Malaysian properties, for local and foreign visitors.
